Development of Town Halls, Guild (or union Halls), Castles, Palaces both private and governmental, major Urban Monuments.

Italian influences went north, with printed books taking designs throughout the continent. Northern painters traveled to Italy, taking back ideas, mostly classical details, but not Italian or French character. They "played" with classical themes. Again, there was less emphasis on church construction, with more emphasis on houses and civic buildings. Glass was getting cheaper, and so windows increased in size, and northern climates are more amenable and desirable for and of light.
